How to Adjust Laptop Screen Brightness

Most laptops have LED brightness that can be set brighter or dimmer.

Usually the manufacturer includes a separate button on the laptop keyboard to decrease or increase the brightness level. The position of the button is different for each manufacturer, usually on the top right side of the keyboard as shown below.

You just need to press the low light or bright light button. If you press the dim light button repeatedly, the LED lighting will gradually dim and vice versa.

However, there are several types of laptops that do not have a light adjustment button. You can take advantage of the light settings available on your laptop operating system. If you are using Windows 10, you can type brightness in the search field and select Change Brightness Level.

Then you can shift the lighting level on a scale from 1 to 100. The smaller the value, the dimmer, and vice versa.

If you have done the two methods above but have no effect on the level of LED lighting on your laptop, there are several possibilities, including:

  1. Your laptop’s LED doesn’t support light level adjustment
  2. Your driver or operating system (Windows) is not compatible with the LED component. You can reinstall the driver to solve this problem.
  3. The LED brightness control component is physically damaged.

Keep in mind, the brighter your laptop’s LED will drain the battery faster. Adjust the light level as necessary so as not to interfere with your vision and you can use the laptop longer before charging.
