**Mixed Counting Operation** – In mathematics, there are various types of arithmetic operations, one of which is mixed arithmetic operations. In this material, I will provide clarification on the meaning of mixed arithmetic operations, the laws in it and examples of questions complete with discussions. The calculation of the dough is included in the basic mathematical formula so it is not too difficult to do it.

Dough calculation is a calculation that consists of various types of arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). In doing the dough count operation there are several laws that must be obeyed with the following explanation:

### Operational Rules for Compute Mixed Example Problems and Discussion

#### Rules in mixed arithmetic operations

- Operations that are placed in brackets must be completed first. Addition and subtraction operations have the same strong position. That is, the arithmetic operation that is written first must be done first (from the left).
- Multiplication and division operations also have an equally strong position.
- Multiplication and division operations have a more influential position than addition and subtraction operations, so multiplication and division operations must be completed before addition and subtraction operations.

These rules apply to both circular and whole numbers. To understand it better, let’s look at the example questions and discussion about the dough count operation below:

#### Example Problems and discussion of mixed arithmetic operations

**Example 1**

Result of 314,232 – 54,876 + 489,112 = …

**Discussion:**

Since the operation only contains subtraction and addition, we simply count it from the left.

314,232 – 54,876 + 489,112

= (314,232 – 54,876) + 489,112

= 259,356 + 489,112

= 748,468

**Example 2**

Result 435 + (-325) : (-13) – 422 = …

**Discussion:**

Because the operation includes the calculation of the circle number dough, we must complete the division operation first.

435 + (-325) : (-13) – 422

= 435 + ((-325) : (-13)) – 422

= 435 + 25 – 422

= 38

**Example 3**

The result of the work from 1566 + 960: 20 is …

**Discussion:**

We have to do the division operation first.

1566 + 960 : 20

= 1566 + (960 : 20)

= 1566 + 48

= 1614

**Example 4**

The result of the arithmetic operation 22.135 : 5 x 43 = …

**Discussion:**

Since multiplication and division have the same effect, we only need to count them from the left.

22.135 : 5 x 43

= (22.135 : 5) x 43

= 4.427 x 43

= 190361

**Example 5:**

The air temperature in the city of Bangkok in the morning is -3’celcius. During the day, the temperature rises as much as 14’celcius. Then at night the temperature rises again 16’celcius. Then the air temperature in Bangkok at night is …

**Discussion:**

Air temperature in Tokyo in the morning (-3’C) + temperature rise during the day (14’C) – temperature drops at night (16’C)

= -3 + 14 – 16

= 11 – 16

= -5

Then the actual temperature in the city of Bangkok that night was -5’Celsius

**Example 6:**

There are 17 bags of rice in the store, each containing 25 kg. today the shop received 132 kg of flour shipped sweetener. So what is the total weight of the flour in the shop?

Discussion:

17 sacks of rice each containing 25 kg plus 132 kg.

= 17 x 25 + 132

= (17 x 25) + 132

= 425 + 132

= 557

Then the total weight of the rice that is in the durable advanced shop is 557 Kg.
